Guide to Polygel Application With Dual Forms

Meet our Polygel system. Perfect for strengthening your natural nails or creating extensions with dual forms. Its unique, firm texture prevents the gel from running during application, giving you plenty of time to shape the perfect nail.

Here, were showing you exactly how to use Polygel to get a flawless, longlasting look.

Before you apply gel products, make sure to follow these guidelines:

  • Gel products must not come in contact with the skin. Apply only to the nail plate.
  • Gelpolish Factory products should be cured in a 48W nail lamp.
  • Make sure all gel products are fully cured under the nail lamp. Always follow the curing times written on the back of each product. If you are in doubt, cure longer.

1. Prep Your Nails Before Applying Polygel

Give your hands and nails a quick clean with soap and water, dry off well, and you’re on your way!

File your nails into your desired shape.

Gently push back and clean up cuticles with a cuticle tool. Scrape away any loose or dead skin on the nail, making sure you use a gentle hand so you don’t cut yourself or damage your nail plate and cuticle.

Gently buff your nail surfaces with a buffer to remove shine and give a grit texture for your gel polish to better hold onto.

Clean off your nails with a lint-free wipe soaked in nail cleanser or acetone.

Apply a thin layer of Gelpolish Factory Nail Prep & Prime for better adhesion and a longer-lasting result. Let the product air dry completely. It should not be cured under a nail lamp.

After prepping your nails you are ready to start applying gel to your nails. Remember to take your time with prep. It is the most important step if you want a long-lasting result.

How to Apply Polygel with Dual Forms

We recommend to choose a form that is slightly larger that the surface of your nail to make sure product will be fully distributed to the edges.

Apply a very thin layer of base coat to your prepped nails, avoiding contact with the skin and cuticles.

Remember to seal the free edge at the tip of the nail.

Cure the gel in a 48W UV/LED nail lamp for 120 sec.

TIP: To prevent the product sliding to the sides, do a few fingers at a time and cure in between (thumb first, cure, pointer and middle finger, cure, ring and little finger, cure).

Pour some Slip Solution into a small dish, the bottle lid, or another container.

  1. Squeeze an appropriate amount of Polygel onto the spatula side of the Polygel Tool (less is more, we recommend starting with a small bead).
  2. Scrape the product off at the base of the Dual Form.
  3. Dip the brush side into the Slip Solution and wipe off excess liquid on a lint-free wipe. Re-wet as needed.
  4. Distribute the Polygel in the Dual Form using the brush. Focus on creating an even layer and make sure to thin out the product near the cuticle area.
  1. Carefully place the Dual Form with the shaped Polygel onto your nail. Press down lightly, starting at the cuticle and moving toward the tip, so the Polygel distributes evenly on the nail.

  2. If any Polygel seeps out on the sides, you can gently remove it with the brush dipped in Slip Solution.

  3. Flip your finger over and check that the underside of the Polygel looks smooth. Use the brush and Slip Solution to smooth out any uneven areas.

Cure the Polygel with the Dual Form still attached for 120 sec. in a 48W UV/LED nail lamp.

Once the Polygel is cured, gently wiggle the Dual Form off the nail. It should come off easily, revealing a smooth, even nail.

File the nail to achieve the desired shape and length.

If there are any uneven areas on the surface, wipe the nail with cleanser and use a buffer on the nail’s surface to ensure a smooth finish.

Remove any dust or dirt from filing the nails by using lint-free wipes and nail cleanser. Make sure you clean the underside of your extension too.

Enjoy the Polygel as it is or apply gel polish color on top and cure 120 seconds after each layer.

Apply top coat and seal free edge. Cure under the lamp for 120 seconds.

Let your manicure cool down for a minute or two before applying oils or creams.

Pamper and rehydrate your nails and cuticles with a cuticle oil.
